The GSI Optima Battery Box Tray is a universal, heavy-duty mounting solution designed specifically for Optima Group 34/78 batteries, including RedTop, YellowTop, and BlueTop models. It provides a secure, compact way to relocate or mount your battery while keeping weight down and durability high—ideal for classic trucks, custom builds, and air ride setups.
Constructed from 11-gauge A1008 mild steel and laser cut in-house at our Chandler, Arizona facility, this tray delivers excellent strength without unnecessary bulk. Whether you’re cleaning up an engine bay or mounting batteries elsewhere on the chassis, this tray gives you a solid foundation you can trust.

However, we are not liable for personal or property damages resulting from misuse of our products. Orders may be canceled before shipment, except for special-order and custom items, such as chassis products and air ride suspension. Perfect fit for my Optima yellow top battery. I chose to weld a couple of brackets to the back and bottom and make use of my stock battery tray mounting holes in my firewall. Battery is now secure and does not rattle around when driving off road. Looks great.
Fit my Optima Red 25. Doesn't say so in the specs but it's an excellent fit. Maybe it's slightly smaller, but for sure will keep the battery locked in place. It doesn't have any way to mount it so I just mixed up some JB WELD and stuck it to the metal battery tray plate on my Nissan pickup truck. I gues you could weld it or use tap screws but I think the JB WELD will hold up for this application. Unit is very well built, sturdy.

I like the fact it was not yet painted. I used it in a project that required mounting some relays and a mega fuse holder. I just made a bracket that I welded to the top of this hold down. Looks factory, and functions great. It holds the optima battery secure and was easy to figure out a mounting solution.

Relocated my battery was able to save space and make it look nice good quality product.You will need to paint it since it will rust but other than that it does what it says so 5 stars from me.
I bought the battery tray to relocate the battery to the trunk of my car. It worked out perfectly. The box is well built and clean. I only wish that they sold a tray for the larger batteries.

Mounting this will be your biggest hurdle, but once you figure it out it’s compact and fits the battery perfectly. One thing to not is that it is bare steel so please be careful when installing the battery into the tray as to not connect the positive from the battery to this bare metal case.
Used this to replace the factory battery tray (2003 4Runner V8) as the Yellow Top is smaller than the factory size. Welded it into place, painted to prevent rust, and bolted the battery in. Super sturdy, have zero concerns about movement while out on the trail.

Outstanding build and looks too as well. Had my superstar mechanic install this, he spot welded it to the body. Yellow optima battery fits perfect. Setup is solid like a rock, I off road and it is exactly what I needed.
Well built, fit my red top optima like a glove. Welded it down to my battery tray in my 67 chevelle. Looks like it came there.
