Brett Haskin, the proud owner of Haskin Mechanical Services, an HVAC and solar company in Escalon, CA, is a man of many talents. Apart from being a successful businessman, he is also an avid truck enthusiast who loves to work out in his garage during his spare time. His latest creation, a 1995 OBS truck, has turned heads and impressed many in the truck community, earning him a spot as one of the "Truck of the Year Late Finalist."
Brett's love for the OBS body style goes back to his high school days. He graduated in 1995, so it was only fitting that his next build was from that year. He wanted to relive those memories with a truck build that would represent the coolness and uniqueness of that era. It all started when he purchased the truck for his son, but it did not quite fit his son's expectations. That was when Brett decided to take matters into his own hands and turn it into his dream build.
Brett spent two years building the truck with a GSI chassis, which was his second build on top of a GSI Chassis. He wanted the truck to be unique and stand out from the crowd, and that is precisely what he accomplished. The truck's attention to detail and impressive craftsmanship have garnered attention from the truck community and other truck lovers.
Brett gives much credit to the support he received from the truck community. He found GSI online when building his first truck, a 1968 GMC, and has been a loyal customer ever since. He is grateful for the help he has received from his community, especially Daniel Arevalo with Daniel's Custom Auto Interiors in Gardena, CA, and Brandon Myers at Myers Worx in Modesto, CA, who helped bring his vision to life.
Some of his favorite shows are Dino's Git Down and C10 Intervention, where he can share his passion for trucks. Brett's current project is a '66 Nova, and he plans to continue building trucks and cars as a hobby.
Brett’s 1995 OBS truck build is a testament to his passion and dedication for the truck community. It is a beautiful representation of the nostalgia and uniqueness of the '90s, and we are excited to see what he has in store for us in the future!
